Come Home to Warrensburg

What is it exactly about Warrensburg, Missouri, that captures the imagination and hooks you in? To simply pass on Warrensburg as nothing more than a bystander is a mistake. What you stand to miss is the variety of local shops, award winning restaurants, five star accommodations, lively events and activities, and Midwest hospitality that is very much the cornerstone of the type of community that makes you feel like you’re right at home from the moment you arrive.

In the "Home of Man's Best Friend," local Bed and Breakfast Inn’s, such as Gelbach Manor (established in 2006 by Rhonda Gelbach and Associates), and Cena’s Nook (Established in the early 1930’s by Cena Christopher Draper and her husband) provide the comfort and service of a five star hotel without the anxiety you experience in a bigger city. Each of these establishments offers several amenities that make you feel like you never left the comfort of your own home, including freshly prepared breakfast every morning from a select menu of items, select snack items available throughout the day, private bath areas, fire pits, fountain filled gardens, sun rooms, and finely tuned wooded viewing areas.

Of course, finding a place to stay is only half the battle, there is the task of entertainment while you’re here. Warrensburg, Missouri, offers plenty of activities for the entire family to ensure that boredom is never an issue during your stay. From art exhibitions, to wine tastings, golf outings, and hunting or fishing, Warrensburg is the ideal place to bring the family for a fun time out of the confines of your home without having to break the bank.

For adults that need a break away from the kids, located in nearby Knob Noster is Montserrat Vineyards, offering free wine tastings Wednesday through Saturday in the afternoon and evening hours until sunset, as well as bottles to purchase.

The McClure Archives and University Museum, located on the University of Central Missouri campus, presents a chance to see rare artifacts throughout history, and a great resource if you want to learn more about the history of the community. Lions Lake (518 SW Boulevard) offers a variety of activities for leisure and exercise ranging from BBQ areas, to fishing docks, and a 2 mile designated hiking trail. For those looking for a little practice with their hook shot, there is Mules National Golf Club at Pertle Springs; which also includes a pro shop, and full service restaurant and bar that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
