WARRENSBURG, MO (MAY 18, 2017) – The Warrensburg Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking a new Director of Tourism. After current Director of Tourism, Courtney Stephens, accepted a new position with the California State University of San Bernardino as the Development Associate, she gave notice to the Board of Directors and City of Warrensburg that she would be leaving Warrensburg to start a new adventure.


“The WCVB board is going to greatly miss working with Courtney, but we're very happy for her. She has been the key to our success thus far, and the groundwork she has laid will allow the new Director to smoothly transition into the role,” stated Sandy Irle, Board President.

WARRENSBURG, MO (DECEMBER 7, 2016) - The Warrensburg Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCVB) has set aside funding for the promotion of events and attractions exhibiting positive tourism potential to the Warrensburg, Missouri area. These funds are to assist qualified organizations with the promotion of tourism activities striving to directly increase hotel/motel occupancy and encourage events to expand their marketing reach, which contributes positively to the growth of tourism in Warrensburg, Missouri.

WARRENSBURG, MO (JUNE 16, 2016) – The annual all women’s “Air Race Classic (ARC),” started by Amelia Earhart, will be coming through Warrensburg, Missouri, June 21 – 23, 2016. The ARC is the core of women’s air racing, with pilots ranging in age from 17 to 90 years old competing in a cross-country race. Their goal is to make a “perfect” cross country flight.

Each race team, consisting of at least two pilots, must fly during daylight hours only and are given four days to make flybys at each timing point, and then land at the terminus. Performers are Clifton Adams, Scott Umphrey, Phil Wagner, Mark Pearce, Julia Landrum, and Dave Whisker. Each will perform original work of different forms of literature.

Whiteman Air Force Base and the University of Central Missouri are working together to develop a new
partnership for the future. Called “The Whiteman Advantage,” the project brings together personnel and
