WCVB GRANTS

The Warrensburg Convention and Visitors Bureau grant program was established to provide funding to nonprofits (501c3 and 501c6) that are hosting events, programs, and sporting events that promote the development and growth of overnight tourism in Warrensburg, Missouri. Grants are awarded to qualified applicants that bring in visitors from outside Warrensburg (a minimum of 50+ miles), drive business to Warrensburg lodging establishments, and have a positive economic impact on businesses and attractions. Grant funding is made possible through an allocation of the City of Warrensburg Lodging Tax, which is designated by the Missouri State Statue and the City of Warrensburg Ordinance to fund tourism-related expenses of the WCVB.

*The 2024 Grant Program will open August 2023 for events being held Oct 2023-Sept 2024.

WCVB SPONSORSHIP

The Warrensburg Convention and Visitors Bureau sponsorship program was established to provide funding for events and projects that promote the development and growth of overnight tourism in Warrensburg, Missouri. Sponsorships are awarded to qualified applicants that bring in visitors from outside Warrensburg (a minimum of 50+ miles), drive business to Warrensburg lodging establishments, and have a positive economic impact on businesses and attractions. Sponsorship funding is made possible through an allocation of the City of Warrensburg Lodging Tax, which is designated by the Missouri State Statue and the City of Warrensburg Ordinance to fund tourism-related expenses of the WCVB. 

Funds will be available as the budget allows. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply asap. The sponsorship program runs from October 2022-September 2023. 

Sponsorship Criteria:

  • Registered 501c3 or 501c6; submit completed W9 to the City of Warrensburg
  • Event held in 64093 postal code
  • Clearly demonstrate it will increase demand for overnight lodging in Warrensburg
  • NOT Eligible for WCVB Grant Program
  • The application must be submitted a minimum of 30 days of the event date or the project start date
  • One application per organization per program year
  • Funding requested must go toward the event itself and not to pay commissions, bonuses, or other incentives for organization staff/board members. The total funds requested can not exceed 50% of the event/project's total budget. The maximum sponsorship award is $1,000. 
  • If awarded funding, the applicant agrees to recognize the WCVB for the sponsorship by including the WCVB logo on promotional material or by text in prominent size font, "Financial assistance for this project has been provided by the Warrensburg Convention and Visitors Bureau." 
  • If the event is not held or the project is not completed, the funds must be refunded to the WCVB within 30 days of the event date or project completion date. If the funds are not returned, the applicant will be disqualified from future fund allocations from the WCVB.
