Powell Gardens welcomes Painted Garden (April 29-May 31). Celebrate the joy and color spreading across the Gardens with inventive botanical displays, spring blooms, and works of art. Rooted in Kansas City’s art community and presented in partnership with Rachel Hayes and Summit Art, Powell Gardens invites you to image the garden as a gallery this spring. Featured artist, Rachel Hayes, will display her work "Kindred Spirits" in the glass-domed Conservatory. Inspired by traditions of quilt making, sculpture, painting, Minimalism, and Land Art, Hayes designed an installation that embraces light and evokes the opulence of nature and the iconic Midwestern sunset. Fun for the whole family! UCM Theatre and Dance's Central Missouri Repertory presents Robin Hood! Written by Kathryn Schultz Miller. Featuring Riley Given, Shanna Sinow and Jace Nielsen Directed by Dr. Aaron Scully Set Design by Dalima Kapten Costume, Hair and Makeup Design by Hollie Neumann A rollicking, hilarious and fast-paced children's version of the classic tale of Robin Hood! Robin and his band of merry men are stealing from the rich to give to the poor when Robin finds out the Sheriff of Nottingham has locked his one true love, Maid Marian, in the dreaded tower. Robin then sets out to save Maid Marian, and along the way meets a slew of interesting characters, including his best friend, the giant Little John! Come on this journey with Robin Hood as he teams with good and battles evil on his quest for love! With lots of audience interaction, exciting fight sequences and tons of jokes, this play is bound to entertain both kids and their parents! Doors open at 1:30 PM

Special event pit passes are $40, regardless of age. All classes will compete in passing point heat races, b-main(s) if needed, and main events. Saturday and Sunday events are separate stand-alone events and not attached. There are no “Track Registration” fees for any classes the entire weekend. All drivers in all classes must have a current POWRi membership! No exceptions!
